Is ySense Legit Or A Scam? My Honest Review! (2024)

If you’re looking for easy ways to earn free cash in your spare time, GPT (get-paid-to) sites are a great place to start.

These sites are a flexible side hustle that anyone can start. So if you want to earn money online in your spare time, they're a popular way to get started.

ySense, a paid survey and rewards website from the family of Swagbucks and MyPoints, is a perfect example. It offers numerous ways to earn rewards and is available in over a dozen countries.

But is ySense legit? And how much can you really earn with this platform? I tested out the site, and my ySense review is going to cover everything you need to know about getting the most out of it.

What Is ySense?

ySense, formerly known as Clixsense, is an online GPT platform that rewards you for completing tasks like paid surveys, watching videos, completing offers, playing games for money, and more.

The website began in 2012 and is owned by Prodege, the same company that owns leading sites like SwagbucksandInboxDollars. And my video above shares how it works and my experience with using the site.

Since its founding, ySense has partnered with nearly 15 different research companies to produce as many surveys as possible for users. And it's now one of the most globally-popular rewards websites out there.

At the time of writing, ySense also has a3.9 star rating on TrustPilot with over 1,500 reviews and 64% of them being 5 stars.

Overall, if you want a fun and easy way to get free PayPal cash and gift cards, ySense is one website you can add to your money-making toolkit.

Is ySense Legit?

Yes, ySense is legit, and it pays users on time and has plenty of positive reviews. I have also personally tested ySense, and it paid me on time when I reached my minimum cash out. Overall, it's a reputable website with many positive reviews and a reputable parent company.

There are definitely negative ySense reviews about low earning potential, but this is always the case with any survey and reward app.

GPT sites aren't a replacement for an online job or your day job. Rather, they're a flexible online side hustle you can use to earn some quick cash on the side without much effort.

So, while ySense is completely legit and safe, it might not be worth it if you’re looking to make a lot of money. This platform won’t make you rich, so keep your expectations realistic before deciding to utilize it.

How Does ySense Work?

Getting started with ySense was extremely easy when I signed up. All you need is a computer with good internet to start and you're off to the races.

All-in-all, ySense works in 8 simple steps:

  1. Sign Up
  2. Answer Surveys
  3. Complete Offers
  4. Watch Videos
  5. Play Games
  6. Complete Your Daily Checklist
  7. Refer Your Friends
  8. Cash Out

1. Sign Up

To sign up, head over to ysense.com and fill out the “Join Now” form on the homepage.

After setting up an email and password, all you need to provide is your first and last name and a username. You then activate your account by verifying the link sent to your email.

Your main dashboard includes a profile survey that you have to complete to unlock all the other offers. This survey pays $0.05 and helps ySense match you with surveys and offers that are more relevant.

This is the same process sites like Ipsos iSay and Branded Surveys follow, so don't be too surprised!

A lack of an instant sign up bonus is a small downside of ySense. But I like that it doesn't take very long to get started with the site.

2. Answer Surveys

Answering surveys is the main way to earn rewards on ySense. You can access all your available surveys under the “Surveys” menu which includes paid survey opportunities and the ySense daily poll.

Every survey shows you how long it takes to complete and how much you earn upon completion.

Is ySense Legit Or A Scam? My Honest Review! (2)

If a survey has a red flag next to it, that means the survey only pays you 30 days after completing it. Otherwise, the survey pays you instantly.

Most of the surveys on my ySense dashboard had an average completion time of 15 minutes and paid an average of $0.2-$1. This is once again pretty normal for the paid survey world.

In my experience, platforms like Branded Surveys and Survey Junkie pay a bit more per survey oftentimes. But ySense has pretty regular survey rates.

Just note that you can get disqualified for a survey, even if it's available on your dashboard, which is always a downside with many GPT sites like this.

3. Complete Offers

The ySense “Offers” section has tons of different ways to earn money. This is because ySense partners with Offer Wall companies like AdGate, Adscend, and OfferToro to bring you lots of sponsored offers.

Each one of these sections has multiple different offers that you can complete. Some examples of offers on ySense include:

  • Signing up for a banking app
  • Playing games for cash
  • Joining giveaways
  • Complete short questionnaires
  • Product review jobs
  • Signing up for subscriptions and free trials
  • Getting paid to shop

Offers outline the steps you have to follow and how much you earn upon completion. Pay ranges anywhere from $2.50 to $50+, so there's a lot of variety.

Keep in mind that some offers require you to purchase things or input a credit card for a subscription, so I would avoid those unless it’s a purchase you would make anyways.

4. Watch Videos

If you want to generate passive income, this ySense feature is definitely for you.

With ySense, you can earn small amounts of cash for watching videos and ads. This isone of the easiest ways to earn, but the pay is also quite low for this one.

You access the videos under the “Offers” section with most of them being found under the “Adscend” category.

You can then filter videos by trending, new, easy, and featured. Plus, you can scroll through videos to see which category you want to watch.

Check out some of the the video categories on my ySense dashboard:

  • Music
  • Celebrities
  • Gaming
  • Pets & Animals
  • Technology
  • Movies
  • Food

While the variety is definitely there, the amount of videos they offer is pretty low, and so is the pay.

5. Play Games

Playing mobile games that pay is nothing new when it comes to GPT sites. If you’ve used apps like Mistplay or Rewarded Play before then you should already know how this works.

In a nutshell, ySense pays you to download games and then play them. Some of the games available on ySense include:

  • Lucky Bingo
  • Puzzles & Survival
  • Yahtzee
  • Scrabble
  • Match Masters
  • Solitaire Cube
  • Merge Dragons
  • Stars Slots

The average game on ySense has relatively hard requirements compared to other mobile apps that pay, but the earnings seem much higher. For example, you can earn anywhere between $1-$50 for reaching certain milestones, levels, or hours played on a game.

Just be sure to read the fine details under each offer so you don’t have any wrong expectations.

And note that apps like Mistplay and platforms like Gamehag or Buff have a much wider selection of games you can play for rewards.

6. Complete Your Daily Checklist

Your daily ySense checklist is a list of offers, surveys, and polls that are only active for 24 hours. The goal is to complete all of these before time is up so you make as much money as possible.

Daily polls are the most popular offers on your daily checklist. You get to share your opinion (usually on a fun question/topic) and get paid for it.

Is ySense Legit Or A Scam? My Honest Review! (5)

Polls only pay a few cents per day, but if you’re a consistent user, that money can add up.

Swagbucks, a sister website to ySense, also has a daily checklist, and so doesInboxDollars. I find that this is a nice target to aim for each day to maximize your earnings.

7. Refer Your Friends

When you refer your friends to ySense, you earn a sign up bonus of $0.30 per active user that signs up. This $0.30 bonus is for most countries, but a few countries only offer $0.10 per user.

Additionally, once your referral earns their first $5, you receive a $2 bonus. On top of that, every survey or offer that your referral completes pays you a 20% commission (without taking any money from your friends).

Is ySense Legit Or A Scam? My Honest Review! (6)

It’s possible to increase your commission rate to 30% if you have 100 active referrals that have made at least one transaction within a month.

Overall, the ySense referral program is quite good if you invite a lot of people to join. However, many $5 sign up bonuses like you get with Swagbucks or InboxDollars are better in my opinion.

8. Cash Out

To cash out on ySense, go to the “Cashout” section and check your balance to see if you have enough to redeem rewards. The minimum cashout requirement on ySense is $15 with most popular gift cards.

Some of the free gift cards available include:

  • Amazon
  • BestBuy
  • eBay
  • Starbucks
  • Target
  • Walmart
  • Uber

If you want to cash out with PayPal money, you need a minimum balance of $25.

Is ySense Legit Or A Scam? My Honest Review! (7)

This cashout minimum for ySense is somewhat high compared to sites likeBranded Surveys orIpsos iSay, both of which only take $5 to cash out. However, it's similar to sites like InboxDollars and many other survey sites.

And ySense has over 50 different gift cards to choose from, so there's enough variety there for most members.

How Much Does ySense Pay?

After testing out the app, it’s obvious that ySense doesn’t pay that much. You can expect to earn between $1-5 per week with ySense if you’re on it enough and complete a few surveys/offers.

The earning potential is low and the cashout minimum is pretty high, so it might take a few weeks before you actually cash out.

Ultimately, how much you earn with ySense depends on how many surveys and offers you complete. If you put in more time, making $10 to $50 a week could be possible, but don't expect this.

Don’t expect ySense to break the bank or make you rich. It’s just a fun side hustle to do when you’re watching TV. And some of the gaming options and surveys pay a bit higher than a few other popular reward sites, which is a plus.

Pros & Cons

Pros:

  • Sign up in 1 minute
  • ySense is available in over a dozen countries
  • Multiple ways to earn
  • Surveys and games pay higher than some other beermoney sites
  • Lots of gift card options to cashout
  • You can redeem free PayPal money
  • There's a ySense mobile app for Android and iOS

Cons:

  • Low earning potential
  • High cashout minimum of $15 for gift cards and $25 for PayPal
  • Some paid offers require credit card info
  • Somewhat outdated user interface

Other ySense Reviews

I tested out ySense, and I think it's a legitimate rewards website that has a variety of ways to earn andsomedecent offers. But one of the best ways to know if ySense is legit is by looking at what real users have to say about their experience with the site.

Take a look at what other real users on Reddit are saying about their experiences with using ySense:

  • Blazing_neon says: “I've completed over 40 surveys in a month. Been disqualified for about 9 of them after I had spent more than 15 minutes for each of those 9 surveys.”
  • Berrybingsu says: “My all-time favorite beermoney site! I've earned a lifetime total of $70 from here already and cashed out multiple times”
  • Lucky_potato says: “My history so far is full of clicked or screened out attempts.”

As you can see, the reviews are a bit mixed, but the biggest complaint by far was the fact that surveys aren’t guaranteed.

This is one reason sites like Ipsos iSay area bit better in my opinion since you actually get paid a bit of money for each disqualification. But disqualifications are just a part of any survey platform, so keep this in mind.

This ySense review from YouTuber Ted Gets Bread also shares how ySense works and how much money you can realistically make:

Ted shares how ySense is legit and lets you make fast cash with easy offers like surveys. But he also admits that ySense isn't a full-time income or anything close to that.

The Best Sites Like ySense

ySense is run by a legitimate parent company, and I like that it is globally available and has plenty of ways to earn. However, I don't think it's a top-tier survey site.

In my opinion, you're better off trying some other sites like ySense since the payouts are higher and you can cash out sooner.

Several ySense alternatives you can try include:

  • Branded Surveys: A leading survey platform that lets you cash out at only $5.
  • Swagbucks: This site lets you make money by answering surveys, downloading new apps, shopping, playing trivia for money, and more!
  • Ipsos iSay: Another global and popular survey panel that also lets you cash out at only $5.
  • Kashkick: This platform pays you with PayPal cash for answering surveys and playing games.
  • Grindabuck: Another flexible GPT site with a very decent list of Offer Wall partners.

Tom also has a YouTube video that shares even more legit survey sites you can use to get free money and gift cards in your spare time.

None of these platforms are going to make $100 a day or a full-time income. But I think they're good alternatives to ySense that are reliable methods to earn some nice rewards.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is ySense A Scam?

No, ySense isn't a scam. It's owned by a reputable company Prodege which also owns other legit sites like Swagbucks and InboxDollars. And there's plenty of positive online reviews and payment proof.

Is ySense Worth It?

ySense is worth using if you already enjoy using reward websites and want another way to cash out. And it's also one of the best gpt platforms in terms of global availability.

In contrast, ySense isn't worth it if you want to earn a more serious income.

In this case, options like using different gig apps like DoorDash or freelancing online are likely better ideas. And you can also use microtask sites like Appen or Clickworker instead since they pay more per hour.

Who Can Use ySense?

You can sign up for ySense if you're 13 or older in the United States or 16 or older in other countries. ySense is available in 15+ countries, including:

Final Thoughts

I hope my ySense review helps you understand how this platform works and what to expect in terms of pay.

After personally testing ySense, other online reviews seem to check out because ySense isn't a scam.

However, I don’t think the site is worth it compared to other GPT sites. Surveys are not guaranteed which can end up making you waste a ton of time only to find out that you didn’t qualify. And the payout requirement is pretty high.

I'd suggest starting with sites likeBranded Surveys orIpsos iSay since you can cash out at just $5.

But there aresomany high paying apps and side hustles out there. So, don't be afraid to test out ySense and some other options to see what works best for you.
