There's a lot going on around the Madison-area for Independence Day weekend.

Saturday
Madison
Madison's Breese Stevens Field, 917 East Mifflin St., will host its "Festival Foods Lights The Isthmus" Independence Day celebration from 6-10 p.m. on Saturday. The ticketed event includes local bands, food, beverages, games prizes and a 20-minute fireworks display. General admission tickets cost $13, while children under age 12 are free with a paying adult. The Rigby Pub, Grill and Event Venue on 119 E. Main St. is scheduled to host a "Rooftop Firework Watch Party" starting at 6 p.m. Saturday. The price for the event is free and will be held on The Rigby's "Lucy In the Sky" rooftop.

Sunday
Sun Prairie
A fireworks celebration is set for 6 p.m. on Sunday at Angell Park, 315 Park St. The cost to enter the event is $15 in advance and $18 at the gate for adults, $12 in advance and $16 at the gate for seniors, $8 for students 12-17, $8 for children 6-11 and $5 for children five and under. Starting July 3
Monona
For its last year, the Monona Community Festival will draw tens of thousands of people to Winnequah Park, starting Wednesday, with festivities taking place from 11 a.m. to midnight, with live music, carnival rides, team trivia and a cornhole competition. The festival runs from 9 a.m. to midnight on July 4, with music, an art fair, a car show and drag bingo, with a fireworks display at 9:20 p.m. Food carts, snacks, beer and wine will be offered.
DeForest
From July 3 to July 4, the DeForest Windsor Area Chamber of Commerce-hosted 4th of July Celebration will take place at 300 Jefferson St. July 3 events include pony rides, a DJ, inflatables, a rock wall and activity booths. On July 4, there is slated to be an athletic event, car show, parade, bingo, artist booths and, at 4 p.m., a U.S. Air Force Aerial Flyover. There also will be food and beer.
Shorewood Hills
The village of Shorewood Hillsis celebrating Independence Day on July 3 and July 4 this year. July 3 will kick off the celebration with an Independence Day Dance at the fire station on 1008 Shorewood Blvd. from 7:30-10:30 p.m. On July 4, the 15th-annual Tri-It mini-triathlon for all ages will welcome competitors at 9 a.m. at the Shorewood Pool with on-site registration starting at 8:30 a.m. A village art fair runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., followed by a children’s parade. A family picnic will start at 5:30 p.m. across from the fire station, before fireworks light the sky at Blackhawk Country Club at 9:30 p.m.
Stoughton
The 98th annual Stoughton Fair, running from July 3 to July 9, will include a petting zoo, agricultural events, a truck and tractor pull, fireworks at dusk Thursday, food eating contests, a stunt dog show, camel rides and several otherfestivities.

July 4
Madison
From 2 to 8 p.m. July 4, The Edgewater hotel will host its annual Fourth Fest, with live music, family-friendly activities and water shows from the Mad City Water Ski Team on Lake Mendota.
A “Pedal and Paws Parade” will start at 10 a.m. at North Star Park, 502 North Star Dr., and end at the North Star playground. The event will include goodie bags, face painting and balloon artists. Pets are invited.
Maple Bluff
"Fest on the 4th" will start about 7 a.m. with a 5K race. A parade gets underway by 9 a.m., leading into a festival at Johnson Park. A softball game is scheduled for 1 p.m., with fireworks at Beach Park at 9:30 p.m.
Middleton
A Fourth of July pool party will take place at the Walter Bauman Aquatic Center from 1 to 4 p.m., including games, contests and concession specials. Admission is $5.50.
Waunakee
WaunaBoom, a family-friendly Fourth of July celebration, will be making its way to Ripp Park this year, 213 Dorn Dr. Attendees can enjoy live music, food carts and activities from 2 to 10:30 p.m. A fireworks display will start at 9:45 p.m.
